METAL WOODS - TAYLORMADE, two letters...R 9.  This is TaylorMade's new line of metal woods that will revolutionize the golf industry.  Wether your handicap is two or thirty-two, these woods will improve your game.  TaylorMade added FCT - Flight Control Technology to their MWT - Movable Weight Technology.  This allows you to adjust the Loft, Face Angle and Lie Angle in order to optimize performance.  A 9.5 degree driver can become a 10.5 or an 8.5.  It can have a 2 degree closed face or a 2 degree open face.  TaylorMade has been the best for the last twenty years and shows no signs of giving up their title.  It started with the Burner, then the Burner Bubble, followed by the R5 and R7 series.  If you want to work the golf ball or just hit it long and straight, the TaylorMade R 9 series are the clubs for you.

IRONS - TAYLORMADE (mid/high hdcp) / PING (low hdcp).  TaylorMade is leading the way this year with their new Burner 09 irons.  TaylorMade designed each club in the set individually, decreasing loft in some and adding length to others.  The short irons have a classic look and the longer irons have a forgiving look and feel.  They have been able to create more distinct distance gaps between each iron.  The result is TaylorMade's longest, straightest irons ever.  On the custom end, Ping has always made the best custom built, custom fitted irons, period.  In the old days, you might have been fitted for a set of clubs and been told you needed a half-inch longer shaft.  This extra half-inch took the swingweight from D2 to D8, making the clubs impossibly heavy and hard to swing.  The Ping irons I use have a C8 swingweight, even though they are 3/4 of an inch longer than standard and have heavy x-flex Rifle shafts.  Ping owner John Solheim said the straightest iron they ever built was the Ping Zing.  Tour players didn't like it because the iron literally didn't let them draw or fade the ball at all.  This prompted him to indroduce a better players club, the S59, which was followed by the S58.  This year, the new S57 series continues to give the better player the look he wants but with some added forgiveness.  So visit your local PGA Golf Professional and check out the Burner 09 and Ping S57 irons today.

PUTTERS
- SCOTTY CAMERON, yes they are pricey.  But there isn't a better looking putter on the market today.  Scotty Cameron putters utilize a variety of different metals that allow you to pick the feel that's right for you.  The center shafted models are brilliant and long putters can help soften the yips.  This year's new putter is the Studio Select Kombi, which melds style, technology, and performance.  Some credit should go to the late Ping founder Karsten Solheim, who's original designs have been used by Scotty for years.

GOLF BALLS - TAYLORMADE TP RED/BLACK.  Most golfers are looking for the longest ball with the most spin.  The TaylorMade TP Black is that ball.  Golf Digest actually tested this year's golf balls and found that the TP Black was the longest ball off the tee.  Even longer than all of the quote "distance balls".  TaylorMade's research and development department says most golf balls perform almost the same off the tee.  They feel golfers should be looking for the ball that performs best from inside of 100 yards.  The TP Black has maximum spin and the TP Red has a little less spin.  TaylorMade's TP Red is the ball I'm using now, a #53, thanks to TaylorMade's cool new promotion that allows you to pick any number.   Both of these golf balls hold up better, fly straighter, and travel farther than any other ball on the market.  And with just the right amount of spin.
